Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-14 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying methods, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and conduct investigations or reviews involving high-priority or sensitive matters; Analyzing data from multiple sources to identify risks, inconsistencies, and trends to develop authoritative determinations and policy recommendations impacting agency programs; Producing written investigative reports, risk-based assessments, and decision-support documents that inform agency or U.S. Government-level decisions; AND Leading briefings, negotiations, and interagency engagements and representing the organization to senior officials and external stakeholders on investigative findings and compliance matters.
