Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 Driver's License (or as required by vehicle class)
  • Clean driver's abstract.
  • Skid Steer certified
  • Completion of company driver training and orientation before operating a vehicle.
  • 1 - 3 years previous experience in commercial driving and passenger transport with remote camp support roles preferred.
  • WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, work on feet for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Working Conditions
  • Fly-in/fly-out position based in a remote Arctic camp, with potential for weather-related travel delays.
  • Shared or individual accommodation and meals provided while on site.
  • Extended periods away from home on rotation.
  • Physically demanding work environment with long shifts.
  • Must comply with all health, safety, and sanitation standards established by the client and Dexterra Group.
  • Project-based role with primary work in Nunavut.
  • Ability to work long shifts and rotational schedules (e.g., 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 4 weeks on/ 2 weeks off or similar).

Job Summary: The Driver/Labourer will oversee all camp vehicles and equipment (vans, skid steer and other vehicles borrowed from other departments). Driving duties are performed as required , and always in strict adherence to site-specific safety protocols, road conditions, and mine traffic regulations . This dual role ensures a secure, comfortable, and compliant workplace. Candidates must have excellent attention to detail, a strong safety focus, and be able to work independently at remote sites. Strict compliance with site safety protocols-WHMIS, hazard assessments, PPE, safe work procedures - is mandatory. Participation in toolbox talks and JSAs is required.
