Specialized experience for this position is defined as: performing complex qualitative and quantitative evaluations of program operations to improve workflow efficiency; interpreting and applying federal regulations, agency directives, and Department of Energy (DOE) policies; developing analytical products, including operational assessments and programmatic evaluations, to support leadership decision-making; and coordinating project initiatives while collaborating with federal staff, contractors, and external partners to align goals and resolve operational issues. Examples of Specialized Experience: 1. Assessing programs and processes, and leading process improvement initiatives. 2. Analyzing and researching agency regulations and polices. 3. Developing and resolving unique business strategies. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
