About the role
We are seeking a Network Engineer (IoT) - (Public Sector) to serve as the primary technical authority for the design, implementation, integration, and operational management of environmental telemetry and sensor monitoring systems. Implement automated calibration offset management. Develop device health and state monitoring capabilities. Integrate environmental monitoring and telemetry platforms. Device & Platform Integration Develop bidirectional communication between field devices and backend systems. Integrate telemetry platforms such as: Campbell Scientific Vaisala LSI LASTEM Similar environmental monitoring platforms Troubleshoot device communication and telemetry issues. Edge Computing & Network Resilience Design and implement edge-side buffering mechanisms. Develop store-and-forward strategies for intermittent cellular connectivity. Ensure data integrity during communication outages. Support field deployments and remote telemetry operations. Protocol & Data Engineering Develop and maintain MQTT-based integrations. Implement open-standard IoT communication protocols. Perform low-level device data parsing and transformation. Handle binary payload decoding and protocol interpretation. Operations & Support Monitor telemetry infrastructure health and availability. Support incident investigation and root-cause analysis. Produce technical documentation and implementation artefacts. Work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams throughout the deployment lifecycle.
