Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or a related science.
- 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment; Chemical or Automotive manufacturing setting would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting EHS programs in construction settings is desirable.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. This includes consensus standards such as OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, and Workers' Compensation. Additionally, inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, and incident investigation techniques are necessary.
- Knowledge in organizational change and building a safety culture through influence and engagement.
- Demonstrated strength in collaborating with colleagues and leaders across all levels.

As an EHS Specialist, you will help manage a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety program for the PPG Delaware facility. You will report to the EHS Manager and help guide best practices to sustain our EHS mission. You will provide leadership and training to provide a safe workplace for our team members, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to minimize all liabilities/risk. You will have close interaction with all levels of the manufacturing, technical and engineering organizations and provide an unified EHS message. Main Responsibilities - Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG policies. - Provide leadership for EHS training. - Evaluate the EHS Impacts of capital projects and assure EHS risk assessments are completed. - Manage important safety programs including Job Safety Analysis, site safety risk assessments, risk mitigation, and Management of Change. - Support site management and provide coaching and review of incident investigations and corrective actions through 5-Why and other incident investigation methods. - Provide oversight, audit readiness and mentorship for compliance audits and corrective action management. - Lead emergency response activities. - Help lead/support Site Safety Committee, LOTO Subcommittee and Ergonomic Subcommittee - Develop programs to reduce EHS risks and to comply with regulatory and PPG corporate requirements and management systems. - Complete and submit Federal, State, and Local environmental reports such as the OSHA logs, and be responsible for site permits. - Help with oversight of the Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal). - Help develop leading indicators that improve sustainability metrics (energy, water, waste), spill incidents, injuries and the EHS Management System.
