Platform Product Manager - Discovery Platform

About the role

With over a quarter of a billion users every month and over 400 designs created each second - the Discovery Group ensures that our users spend more time designing and less time trying to find what they're looking for. Building powerful, reliable, scalable search capabilities is critical to achieving this mission. The Discovery Platform team sits within the Discovery Group. We build and maintain the core indexing and querying frameworks that all of Canva's search systems rely on. From internal observability tooling to scalable, modular frameworks, we enable product teams to ship search experiences fast, with confidence. Every search on Canva starts here. In this role you'll be responsible for delivering strategic AI, revenue and MAU product initiatives in the content marketplace, bringing together stakeholders in multiple teams to achieve big goals that make Canva the best place in the world to discover & create content. What you'd be doing in this role Define and own the Platform vision, roadmap, and priorities for the Discovery Platform, ensuring alignment with company-wide goals Develop and maintain continuous alignment with user facing Discovery teams to ensure Discovery Platform capabilities is evolving in line to support the needs and scale required Proactively engage with other teams in early-stage product discovery discussions to ensure Discovery Platform's capabilities and constraints are considered before key decisions are made Identify opportunities to streamline Discovery Platform's services to maximise impact and efficiency, freeing up engineering capacity Promote the development of innovative platform solutions that solve recurring challenges across Discovery, making the platform more scalable and extensible Evolve our search and recommendation systems to meet the advanced needs of enterprise Explore how AI is transforming the search and discovery landscape and ensure our discovery platform leveraging the latest technologies You're probably a match if Strong technical background with a deep understanding of platforms, software development, and current technology trends. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Strategic thinker with a track record of executing large-scale projects successfully (ideally in technical platforms, cloud services, or other related areas) Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment is preferred Bonus experience Experience in building search infrastructure and working with vector databases What's in it for you?
