About the role
The Institutional Analyst is accountable for delivering governed enrolment analysis, reporting, and forecasting that supports strategic enrolment management, institutional planning, and regulatory accountability. Through close collaboration with enrolment, academic, and planning partners, the Institutional Analyst enables informed decisions related to capacity, resource allocation, and institutional sustainability, while reducing institutional risk associated with misinterpretation or misuse of enrolment data. The Institutional Analyst will: Produce accurate and timely enrolment reports, dashboards and analytical summaries; Analyze enrolment trends across programs, cohorts, and student populations; Support institutional planning and decision‑making through reliable data insights; Apply governance‑approved definitions and standards in all reporting outputs; Document enrolment metrics, methodologies, and analytical assumptions; Ensure analytical work is reproducible and transparent; Contribute to enrolment forecasting and long‑range planning activities; Clearly communicate modelling assumptions, limitations, and potential impacts; Maintain comprehensive documentation of forecasting models and assumptions; Align analytical outputs with institutional priorities and planning needs. Key Skills and Experience: Degree in a related analytical and/or research discipline (e.g., Business, Analytics, Marketing, Social Sciences etc.), or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Experience in data analysis, institutional planning, or performance measurement; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, relational databases, and data visualization tools, including Tableau or Power BI; Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, or Python) and data querying techniques (e.g., SQL); Knowledge of privacy legislation (e.g., FIPPA, PIPEDA) and data governance principles; Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community; Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with faculty members, administrators, and other institutional teams; Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to present data in accessible and compelling formats for diverse audiences; Advanced ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights; Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization; Detail-oriented, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reports and analyses. Preferred or Asset Skills: Experience in the broader post-secondary sector; and Knowledge of the Brock University environment. Salary and Total Rewards: Job Grade K, Salary Scale ($62,115- $99,384); Target Hiring Range: $62,115-$64,000* This is a fixed term contract position that includes: Health & Dental Benefits: Comprehensive extended health, dental, and vision coverage. Pension Plan: Enrollment eligibility in the Brock University Pension Plan. Vacation: Up to 3 weeks per year, in addition to university holidays.
