Are you ready to lead data governance at a global scale? Join Vanguard as the Data Governance Lead - Americas, where you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for data governance across Canada. In this role, you'll define and drive the enterprise data governance vision-establishing standards for data quality, stewardship, lineage, privacy, and compliance-while enabling trusted, AI-ready data across the organization Core Responsibilities: Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise data governance framework, aligning with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and risk management practices. Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and roles (e.g., Data Owners, Stewards, Custodians) across business domains. Establish and facilitate governance forums, including Data Councils and Steward Working Groups. Translate regulatory and enterprise risk requirements into actionable data governance controls and processes. Enable effective metadata management, including business glossaries, lineage, and data catalogs using tools like Alation, Collibra, Atlan (or equivalent). Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to implement data classification, tagging, and lineage capture aligned with privacy and security needs. Drive data quality management practices - define DQ dimensions, establish rules, and coordinate profiling, monitoring, and remediation workflows. Oversee the rollout of governance capabilities across data domains and platforms, with measurable impact and adoption Engage with stakeholders across technology, risk, legal, compliance, and business functions to ensure alignment and adoption of governance practices. Lead or support data strategy and transformation programs that require structured governance input (e.g., MDM, cloud modernization, regulatory initiatives). Define metrics to track data quality, policy adherence, issue resolution, and overall governance maturity. Produce regular dashboards and executive-level reporting on governance KPIs. Continuously benchmark internal practices against industry standards and identify improvement
