About the role
You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader in the Shop 38F Air and Hydraulics of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Ability to apply a variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to layout, install, overhaul, repair, and maintain various types of marine machinery equipment and/or components. Ability to relay instructions from the shop supervisor to the workers to ensure that schedules and/or completion dates are met in a proper and safe manner. Ability to use machine tools for onsite milling, grinding, machining, facing, boring, and/or drilling, along with the use of various portable machines. Ability to working from blueprints, technical manuals, sketches and/or specifications using shop math, trade theories, industrial practices and associated background subjects in calculating needed material. Ability to plan and lay out work orders associated with the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of submarine machinery and equipment. Ability to rebuild, refurnish, or replace worn or damaged parts and making templates, jigs, and other aids for use in repairs and installations.
