About the role

You will serve as an AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC (AMPR/PSM/BR) in the MAITENANCE, REPAIR AND OVER (MRO) PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN EAST. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POISTION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: A)Troubleshooting one or more types or models of malfunctioning conventional and/or modified aircraft engines while in the aircraft or in an engine test cell; Troubleshooting or evaluating operational engine performance, since defects in one area often appear as symptoms in different areas; Determine the degree of disassembly needed; Repairing or replacing defective parts or components; Prescribing modifications, and make final adjustments to achieve acceptable engine operation; Performing the full-range of engine disassembly and assembly and compressor/turbine dynamic balancing independently; Requiring support on the job training of inexperienced personnel or trainees by sharing their knowledge and skills with personnel that are assigned to work with them. B) Determining the degree of disassembly needed; Repairing or replacing defective parts or components; Prescribing modifications and adjustments achieving acceptable engine operation; Inspecting, repairing, and maintenance of parts and subassemblies of hydraulic and pneumatic components; Assisting other mechanics qualified at a higher level within the pneudraulic trade. C) Repairing aircraft systems, subsystems and assemblies; Making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories; Determining the type and extent of repairs needed, work sequence, and the parts, tools, and materials necessary to accomplish the engine repair.
