Assistant Manager - Corporate Tax

Looking for a corporate tax role with interesting work, good people around you and room to grow? Our Brisbane office is growing quickly, and so is our Brisbane Tax team. We are looking for an Assistant Manager who wants to do quality corporate tax work, learn directly from experienced Partners and other senior leaders, help build the team, and be part of a practice where there is always plenty happening. You'll be part of a fast-growing Brisbane office and tax team, working closely with Partners and senior leaders with a great and expanding client base. You will be working on interesting client matters while helping develop junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Advise, Solve & Make the Complex Useful
• Prepare and review corporate income tax returns and tax effect accounting workpapers for a diverse client base
• Provide practical tax advice that clients can understand and use, backed by sound research and technical analysis
• Contribute to structuring, financing and transactional tax matters, including M&A and due diligence engagements
• Draft advice and reports that make complex tax issues clear
• Lead, Mentor & Help Build the Team
• Coach and develop junior team members as the Brisbane Tax team continues its growth trajectory
• Share knowledge through in-house technical training, team discussions and everyday mentoring
• Support Partners and other senior leaders with client work, team planning and the continued growth of the practice
• Celebrate success and have fun along the way
• Engage Clients & Build Relationships
• Be someone clients and colleagues can rely on and engage with, not just the person who finds the solution
• Manage expectations, identify risks and escalate matters where required
• Have a real client service mentality - notice where clients may need extra support and connect them with the right people across the RSM team
• About you:
• You are a corporate tax professional who enjoys technical work, client conversations and being part of a growing and highly engaged Brisbane team.
• Essential:
• Around 4-5 years' experience in corporate tax or a similar professional services role
• Strong communication skills, good judgement and the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly
• A collaborative style, strong attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of your work

Requirements

• Essential
• Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or Finance with an Accounting major
• CA or equivalent qualification completed
• Desirable
• Double degree including Law
• Master of Taxation
