About the role

The Receiving Office Associate is responsible for taking care of the receiving department's desk, data entries, reconciles, phone calls, emails and able to do complete all Receiver III duties.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Assume responsibility for immediately addressing safety concerns
  • Perform and complete all reconciles daily
  • Complete all data entry and record maintenance functions, including understanding and use of the AS400, Warehouse Management Software (WMS), or other computer systems as they relate to all receiving and inbound freight job tasks
  • Efficiently and accurately documents packing slips, BOL, and POs for damaged and/or short/lost shipments
  • Ensures that jobs are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly
  • Answers incoming telephones calls in a cheerful, courteous, and timely manner and take messages when necessary
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
  • Maintain a minimum standard in three zones in compliance with current company policies in both accuracy and productivity
  • Report any damage to electronic hardware, material handling equipment at the Distribution Center immediately to a Supervisor
  • Properly use and understand all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job task
  • Perform Receiver III duties as needed

Requirements

  • 1+ years of distribution center receiving experience
  • Successful completion of training in Zones 1 - 3 required
  • Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Training will be provided by the company
  • High School or GED - Preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in receiving aspects of the Warehouse Management Software (WMS) in use at Distribution Centers
  • Must be willing to be trained on all the following material handling equipment: Forklifts, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements. Training will be provided by the company as needed
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills to work environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
