Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Responsible for the Health System building access security system, creation of ID badges, granting access to secure areas of the Hospital as appropriate. Maintain the database to reflect the active hospital employees, disable access in a timely fashion when employee separation or change in status occurs. Responsible for granting access to both the main Health System for employees and others as appropriate in a seamless process that is transparent to the ID badge holder. Responsible for the coordination and integration of Health System ID badge holders to ensure that each individual has the appropriate level of access to all University of Kansas Medical Center buildings and parking structures. This requires extensive coordination with the University of Kansas badge office and Police Department. Establishes a role-based security-provisioning system that will be implemented to provide access to secure areas within the University of Kansas Health System. Integrates this program with the Health System Human Resources department as new people join the organization. This system will also accommodate non-Hospital employees that have been authorized to access secure areas within the Hospital Authority organization. Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of attempts of unauthorized ID badge holders trying to access secure areas within the Health System organization. Establish tracking, trending, reporting standards, and frequencies for these unauthorized attempts. With an increased focus on all sensitive areas such as computer rooms, Pediatric unit, nursery, and interventional procedural areas monitoring for events of concern or significance. Coordinates with Environment of Care, Human Resources, Health System Facilities, and University of Kansas Police in the establishment of standards for the updating, creation, and distribution of identification badges and security access for the main Hospital and Health System buildings for employees and other authorized people. Coordinates the gathering of information and the preparation of materials necessary for the creating of identification badges and the modifying of security access. Receives and screens all correspondence pertaining to identification badge security access to the University of Kansas Health System, determining appropriate action. Assists in the review of the existing security access program, the goal is standardization of security access within the University of Kansas Health System and its properties. Reviews names in Workday or applicable platform, verify their employment status is updated, and organizational affiliation is properly identified, validates data with the HR Workday system, or applicable system, and University Human Resource department as required. Serves as a customer service interface between department and internal customers. Resolves customer complaints and issues. Assist in the review of new areas that controlled-access devices have been planned for installation. Objective to provide operational security access for the occupants of space in an organized and seamless manner. Brings ideas / concerns to supervisor; participates in department decision-making. Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and Experience High School Graduate or GED AND 2 years of successful office/clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
