There will be an option to switch to a flex 9/80 schedule after the first 90 days in position. There is also a possibility for on-call after hours for snow duties or other emergencies.Who We Are & What You'll DoFor more information visit the General Services website at Department of General ServicesThe Facilities Management Division is currently seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Building and Grounds Supervisor that:Provides clear and tailored communication to a range of stakeholders including internal and external staff, customers and high priority leadersSupervises the work of employees who maintain lawns and grounds, create work orders for requests, remove snow, and perform other related dutiesInspects the work of service contractors, attends meetings, and review the quality of completed workDevelops goals, documents performance, provides feedback, and formally evaluates employee performance; provides reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance. Identifies opportunities and provides guidance for continual improvement to performance standardsPlans, assigns, and evaluates the work of staff members, establishes unit and staff work goals and objectives, and recommends process improvements in practices and procedures to increase operating efficiency and expedite workflowReviews, develops, or modifies work plans, methods, and procedures, determines work priorities, and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverageProvides work instruction and assists employees with difficult and/or unusual assignments; encourages innovationAssigns and distributes work, reviews work for accuracy and completeness and return assignments with recommendations for proper completionOversees work in-progress to ensure quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the work and output, implements safety standards, and prepare work records and reportsConducts hiring interviews and selects candidate(s) for job opening(s)Resolves problems and mediates conflicts encountered during daily operations, determines appropriate solutions, and promote teamworkEnsures quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of unit activities and safety measuresMay be required to be on-call to address emergent needsPerforms other related duties as assignedDental insuranceVision insurancePaid time off
