Payments & Refunds Specialists are responsible for delivering AmTrav's highest standard of service, ensuring travelers' critical issues are resolved efficiently and with care. This is a back-office role-you won't be working directly with clients, but instead partnering with hotels and vendors to make sure every traveler's needs are met. Success in this role comes down to strong communication, sharp prioritization, and a genuine team-first mindset. Responsibilities
- Make a high volume of outbound calls to hotels and travel vendors on behalf of our travelers.
- Contact hotels to obtain folios, receipts, and other required documentation.
- Follow up with travelers and travel administrators to collect updated payment information when needed.
- Create and distribute pre-authorization forms, including prepaid payment forms and virtual credit cards.
- Coordinate directly with hotels to resolve payment issues and assist with credit card reversals.
- Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates to ensure a seamless traveler experience.
Requirements
- Previous travel industry experience is a plus, but not required-we're happy to train the right candidate.
- Spanish-language proficiency is a bonus but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to listen, empathize, and build rapport.
- Comfortable receiving coaching and feedback in a performance-driven environment focused on continuous development.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with Windows-based applications and comfortable working on a computer for extended periods.
- A positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude when interacting with both travelers and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to meet performance goals and maintain a strong, reliable work history.
