Houseman - Roost East Market

About the role

The Houseman supports the overall cleanliness, organization, and day ‑ to ‑ day functioning of the property. This role works closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Front Desk teams to ensure guest areas, back ‑ of ‑ house spaces, and public zones are consistently clean, stocked, and welcoming. A great Houseman is proactive, detail ‑ oriented, and takes pride in creating a seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and outdoor entryways
• Support Room Attendants by delivering linens, removing trash, and restocking supplies
• Assist with deep ‑ cleaning tasks such as carpet care, floor polishing, and high ‑ dusting
• Respond promptly to guest and team requests for additional items or support
• Ensure all storage closets and housekeeping areas remain organized and fully stocked
• Transport soiled linens to designated areas and distribute clean linens as needed
• Perform light maintenance tasks when appropriate (changing light bulbs, reporting issues, etc.)
• Support event or operational setups by moving furniture, equipment, or supplies
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and property standards
• Uphold brand presentation and guest ‑ first service at all times

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred but not required
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, orderly spaces
• Reliable, self ‑ motivated, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team
• Friendly, professional demeanor with a service ‑ oriented mindset
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
• Working Conditions/Environment:
• The person having this position may have to stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day.
• Agility in executing fast-paced movements to navigate different areas of the property efficiently.
• The person having this responsibility may have to move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
