We now have an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Warehouse Operations Manager based in Telford. Reporting to the Head of Warehousing, this pivotal role proactively plans and manages the Telford Warehouse Operation, ensuring each shift operates at its optimum level for the achievement of the overall agreed SLA's, KPI's and budget. The role ensures colleague safety, training compliance and Learning and Development, identifying gaps in team performance and devises and implements more efficient ways of operating. Key Duties of a Warehouse Manager: General Warehouse Management Through a team of Shift Managers, maximise the overall warehouse productivity, accuracy, performance and cleanliness - ensuring each shift meets its agreed daily/weekly targets -where necessary deploying resources to meet daily/monthly and peak trading peaks. Oversee all functions/processed within the warehouse ensuring SLA's and KPI's are met and costs are controlled in-line with budgets. Working collaboratively with the wider site team and Lutterworth, ensure operational issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently and service levels are maintained. Any outages are escalated accordingly. Ensuring productivity and activity is measured in line with budgetary labour costs. Ensuring that daily handover reports and warehouse management reports are completed. Producing, analysing and providing feedback on daily, weekly and monthly reports relating to performance and finance suggesting improvements when necessary. Responsibility to identify, promote, support and implement continuous improvement programmes. Oversee the management of the warehouse temperature and warehouse colleague facilities (toilets, canteen vending etc). Oversee the management of MHE equipment to ensure all equipment is well maintained and minimal machines are not in use. Oversee and manage any future MHE tender process at contract renewal Health and safety Responsible for ensuring that all H&S procedures are always adhered to including visitors and any breaches are investigated for learnings. To ensure strictest compliance for food safety. Legality, quality and associated systems. Work collaboratively with the H&S team and trainers to review and rectify H&S risks and breaches. People Management Ensure all warehouse disciplinary/grievance/HR processes are well executed, fair and decisions are consistent and in-line with the relevant Company policy. Through a Team of Shift Managers, team leaders and trainers ensure all warehouse colleagues are recruited well; on-boarded, trained and continually developed. Maximising the flexibility of the workforce by multi-skilling. Overall responsibility for training for use of equipment of MHE and operating equipment for all employees and record keeping. Customer/Client interaction Attend on and off-site meetings with internal and external customers to ensure business and customer requirements are met. Responsible for BRC requirements / internal quality standards of the site and ensure the operation adheres to the demands of this. Additional Responsibilities Overall warehouse performance Internal KPI's and SLAs. Efficiency of resources utilised. Budget/Cost management. Customer and colleague satisfaction and engagement. Occasional cover at other sites Occasional travel to Lutterworth site to work closely with the Warehouse manager on common issues and challenges. Operational management experience within a FMCG warehouse environment People management experience, including direct and indirect reports Warehouse health & safety legislation, including accident and incident investigation and root cause analysis Consolidation and loading operations in FMCG Industry Understanding of WMS systems with the ability to interrogate the information Excellent knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint Customer relationship management Budget and productivity management Operational management experience within a temperature-controlled warehouse environment Working within a quality system framework BRC/ISO Management of budgets Continuous Improvement and Project management and delivery As part of our drive to make CML Fulfilment a great place to work.
