Welcome to NoMad Singapore OVERVIEW OF ROLE TheTechnician is responsible for supporting the Engineering team in maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient and uninterrupted operations. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance across hotel systems including electrical, mechanical, plumbing,HVAC and general building maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. TheTechnician works closely with the Engineering leadership team to ensure all hotel equipment and guest facilities are maintained to the highest standards, contributing to a safe and seamless guest experience. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The main responsibilities of the Technician are summarised below; however, the list isnot exhaustive. GENERAL DUTIES - Carryout daily maintenance, repairs and inspections of hotel facilities, equipment and systems. - Ensure the proper operation of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, refrigeration and mechanical systems. - Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest room defects. - Perform preventive maintenance according to the established engineering schedule. - Monitor and inspect engineering equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. -Maintain accurate records of maintenance works, inspections and equipment performance. - Assist with banquet, event and meeting set-up maintenance requirements where necessary. - Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor utility usage where applicable. - Ensure all tools, equipment and work areas are properly maintained and secured. - Follow hotel policies and procedures relating to engineering operations and workplace safety. MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS -Troubleshoot equipment faults and carry out corrective actions promptly. - Assist in maintaining hotel systems including generators, lighting, water supply, drainage and ventilation systems. - Conduct regular testing of emergency and backup systems to ensure operational readiness. -Coordinate with external contractors and vendors during servicing or repair works when required. - Ensure all maintenance activities are completed with minimal disruption to guests and hotel operations. - Report any major defects, hazards or safety concerns to the Engineering leadership team immediately. - Support renovation, installation and improvement projects as assigned. HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE - Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, fire safety procedures and hotel standards. -Maintain a safe working environment and follow proper safety procedures at all times. -Participate in emergency response procedures and engineering-related incident management when required. - Ensure all engineering works are carried out in accordance with local regulations and hotel guidelines. - Monitor fire prevention systems and report any irregularities immediately. TEAMWORK & COLLABORATION - Work closely with all hotel departments to support operational needs and guest satisfaction. -Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations. - Support and assist fellow team members where required. -Participate actively in departmental training sessions and meetings. -Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and a positive attitude at all times.
