About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to make a real difference as Recovery Coach within our Newcastle Recovery Academy. Newcastle Recovery Academy is a 12-week structured community rehabilitation programme for adults (18+) in Newcastle. The programme is based on 12 step principles, psychosocial interventions, relapse prevention, and recovery capital development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured abstinence based 12-week programme
- Support service users through the programme as well as develop opportunities for community inclusion and sustained recovery.
- Deliver non structured sessions to support readiness for our 12 week programme.
- Deliver one to one support and review sessions.
- Manage a caseload of service users accessing the programme.
- Ensure safeguarding is in place including effective risk assessments and management plans.
- Work with wider partners to ensure service users have a wide range of support outside of the programme.
- To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need :
- Experience of working within the drug and alcohol field
- Genuine interest in supporting people in Recovery
- Experience of managing a caseload.
- Experience of Group programme delivery.
- Good understanding of Harm reduction approaches.
