Job Description The Assistant Teaching Professor will be a continuing faculty appointment who is expected to teach, perform research and service in the Sport Management program. This position is expected to teach a 4-4 load (80% instruction) with 10% service and 10% research. This position will be responsible for teaching SPMT 201, SPMT 240, SPMT 314, & SPMT 339 in each of the Fall and Spring semesters. The service expectations will be to assist in advising (along with Program Director) the over 185 minors in the program, the Colorado Rockies partnership (in-class portion), advisor of the SPMT Club, and internship outreach. Full Consideration Date : 06/28/2026 Description of Work Unit: The Masters of Sport Management (MSPMT) is part of the School of Public Policy and Innovative Leadership within the College of Liberal Arts. The MSPMT program aims to prepare dynamic leaders for tomorrow's sport industry through scholarship, leadership, diversity, and quality academic and practical experience through a mixture of academic and applied education in areas such as sport governance, policy, marketing, communications and leadership. Drawing from interdisciplinary frameworks, all curriculum of the MSPMT program is geared towards providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become successful sport industry leaders. Graduates of the sport management master's program will gain practical and theoretical knowledge to pursue a range of mid-high level positions in sport. Students are prepared to pursue leadership roles within sport equipped with critical understandings and tools for effective responsiveness to the shifts in industries of sport. Course instruction is delivered in both online and in-residence formats. Essential Job Duties: Teaching (80%) Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including course and curriculum development. Research (10%) Conduct and publish research, pursue external funding, and contribute to scholarly advancement in the field. Service (10%): Provide service to the department, university, profession, and community in support of CSU's mission. Assist in advising (along with Program Director) the over 185 minors in the program, help manage the Colorado Rockies partnership (in-class portion), be the advisor of the SPMT Club, and support internship outreach.
