About the role

You will serve as a SENIOR CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the Contracting Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Execution and administration of complex, multi-million-dollar federal acquisitions, and utilization of a comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to oversee the entire procurement lifecycle from acquisition planning through closeout. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Evaluating the reasonableness of the contractor's proposed cost/price for use in preparing for complex negotiations; 2) Preparing for negotiations / discussions / awards by reviewing audit and technical reports, performing cost and/or price analysis (or reviewing price analysts' reports), and developing renegotiation post negotiate terms and conditions (including price) based on the pre-negotiation objective and give-and-take with the offer or to establish fair and reasonable price; 3) Managing programs and fostering an environment that administers all resources in a manner that instills public trust while accomplishing the mission; 4) Identifying and analyzing problems by weighing relevance and accuracy of information; seeking and evaluating alternative perspectives/solutions; making timely and effective recommendations based on potential implications of findings or conclusions.
