Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford (with a College Lectureship at Worcester College) Fixed-term, 5 years from September 2026 Lady Margaret Hall (LMH) seeks an outstanding early career academic in German to join the College as the inaugural Nicky Manby-Linda Montgomery Career Development Fellow in German Culture from 1770 . The Fellow will provide up to eight hours of tutorial and class teaching per week during term across a range of undergraduate German language, literature, culture and film papers, including Modern German Literature (1770-present), translation, prescribed authors, and dissertation supervision. The postholder will also contribute to admissions, outreach, graduate advising, and the wider intellectual life of LMH and Worcester College. Applicants should hold a completed doctorate in German or a closely related field and demonstrate strong academic achievement, clear research potential, and enthusiasm for tutorial teaching. Candidates should have a well-developed research project to pursue during the Fellowship and a commitment to contributing to an inclusive academic community. The post is available from September/October 2026 and carries a salary on the University Grade 7 scale (from £39,424 p.a.), together with common table rights, a £1,500 annual research allowance, office accommodation, and a term of sabbatical after six terms in post.
