Job Summary This position is focused on docketing and is responsible for receiving client and official correspondence, updating our central docket system based on the information contained therein, saving, routing, and reporting to the appropriate internal/external parties, and monitoring and ensuring that all due dates are timely met or escalated to manage client and firm risks. This group also performs some quality control checks on other areas of our IP practice. Trademark Focus : US and International Trademark Docketing knowledge and related skills are required. Job Responsibilities Consistently handles high volume, high-quality routine workflows in the areas of docketing, document production, document review, reporting, and other work and consistently adheres to internal and external processing standards. Effectively and efficiently handles assigned projects while keeping up with routine workflow expectations. Adapts quickly to continually changing procedural and regulatory requirements. Actively manages risk for our clients related to docketing, filing, procedural compliance, document production and engages collaboratively to successfully complete tasks in a timely manner. Actively maintains knowledge of task-related Intellectual Property rules (e.g. US, WIPO, and/or other countries docketing and/or application filing requirements), resources, procedures, requirements, and best practices in the areas of docketing, document preparation, reporting, and client/firm risk management. Trains other team members on specific tasks and performs efficient/accurate quality review of work-product prepared by others. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Patent and/or Trademark rules and processes, docketing, document preparation, and risk management. Ability to learn quickly, adapt as needed, and continuously adhere to client and firm procedures. Demonstrated ability to efficiently analyze documents and data (such client correspondence and patent or trademark office communications and IPO/PTO databases), identify key data points, determine appropriate actions or procedures to apply, and complete tasks efficiently. Ability to efficiently handle a continuous, high-volume workflow with excellent accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements. Ability to work independently to maintain high quality and high-volume workflows, while also participating and contributing, in an enthusiastic and friendly manner, as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to efficiently and proficiently use numerous applications and databases related to intellectual property prosecution, including docketing system, form generation tools, document management systems, time and cost entry systems, all applicable public and private databases and electronic filing systems (USPTO, WIPO, other jurisdictions), custom client portals and Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PDF conversion and editing tools. Education This position requires a bachelor's degree. Equivalent job experience and training may also be substituted.
