About the role

The Program Operations Analyst position is located in various organizations across the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). The primary purpose of this position is to provide analytical, technical, and operational support for organizational programs and initiatives. The incumbent manages proposal and award processes, analyzes program data and performance metrics, and develops recommendations to improve program effectiveness and efficiency. To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service leading and analyzing a variety of projects and programs in support of organizational mission requirements. Examples of experience include : Serving as a project and/or program manager for multiple activities with organization-wide scope; Performing complex analyses of organizational programs; Recommending and implementing programmatic updates and process improvements; Supporting the development of short-and-long term plans, schedules, and budget requirements in collaboration with organizational leadership; Leading functional teams in collecting, analyzing, interpretating, and communicating results as part of overall data analysis efforts. Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
