As Principal Product Manager, Core Platform, you will own the vision and roadmap for the core platform capabilities that power Ventura TV OS. The Director of Retail Partnerships owns the end‑to‑end strategy, execution, and growth of retail relationships for Ventura's CTV platform. This role is responsible for scaling platform distribution, activation, and monetization through strategic retail alliances-spanning big‑box retailers, regional retailers, e‑commerce marketplaces, specialty electronics, and retail media networks. This is a senior, cross‑functional leadership role that shapes how Ventura shows up in retail, and how retail partnerships contribute to long‑term platform economics.

Responsibilities

  • Retail & Platform Strategy:
  • Define and lead the multi‑year retail partnership strategy aligned to platform scale, monetization, and advertiser value creation.
  • Identify where retail distribution, platform licensing, and retail media integration create differentiated growth opportunities.
  • Serve as the internal subject‑matter expert on retail dynamics, retail media networks, and their convergence with CTV.
  • Portfolio & Partner Management:
  • Own senior‑level relationships with key retail partners, acting as executive sponsor and primary strategic lead.
  • Prioritize and manage a portfolio of Tier 1, Tier 2, and emerging retail partnerships.
  • Lead complex, multi‑threaded partner negotiations including commercial terms, data usage, activation commitments, and long‑term expansion.
  • Monetization & Retail Media Integration:
  • Drive joint monetization strategies linking CTV inventory with retail shopper data, measurement, and advertiser demand.
  • Partner closely with ad sales, measurement, and data teams to operationalize retail‑driven CTV offerings.
  • Go‑to‑Market & Execution Leadership:
  • Oversee retail‑specific GTM strategies including launches, merchandising, promotions, and co‑marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure strong execution across retail activation, platform adoption, and user experience.
  • Hold teams and partners accountable to activation, revenue, and performance targets.
  • Cross‑Functional:
  • Influence product, engineering, marketing, and operations roadmaps based on retail partner needs and market trends.
  • Act as a senior internal advocate for the retail portfolio
  • Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership:
  • Provide leadership with clear insights on retail market shifts, competitive threats, and ecosystem opportunities.
  • Help shape Ventura's positioning at the intersection of CTV, commerce, and retail media.
  • Success Metrics:
  • Growth in retail‑sourced platform distribution and active households
  • Depth and durability of strategic retail partnerships
  • Speed and scale of new partner launches and integrations

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of experience in retail partnerships, platform partnerships
  • Proven experience owning large, strategic partner portfolios
  • Deep understanding of retail ecosystems, retail media networks, and platform monetization models
  • Strong executive presence with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience driving cross‑functional outcomes at scale
