Description of Duties : Residence Education Instruction (80%) Teach required junior Residential Education classes: Cornerstone (transition to NCSSM, professional communication, healthy relationships, culture and self care), Co-teach College and Career Planning with the Counseling department. Teach Residential Education electives: Financial Planning, Leadership, Public Speaking and Exploring Multicultural America. Participate in the development and evaluation of new curriculum. Conduct research and consult with staff members and other resources in the design and development of new curriculum. Coordinate the review/assessment of current curriculum to ensure that course/program is meeting intended objectives and requirements. Use evaluations and data to make recommendations for how to improve and edit curricula on an annual basis. Develop and use a variety of effective teaching and assessment methods and learning styles by using computers and information technology. Evaluate student's oral presentations, projects and written work using clear explicit criteria relevant to the course content and learning objectives. Maintain and submit accurate reports on published deadlines (i.e.' Grades, syllabi). Communicate with other instructors regarding ideas and resources for particular class sessions. Be available to students outside the classroom. Communicate availability and encourage students to contact you for assistance. Evaluate each class session for its strengths and weaknesses and make recommendations for change or modification. Verbal and written communication to students, parents, and student support team members. Institutional Advancement Responsibilities (20%) Serve as the primary point of contact for Morganton Student Leadership Attaché Role (anticipated to be 5 seniors in 2026-27).Coordinate programs and activities connected to the Morganton Attaché program. This includes overseeing the planning and execution of at least two student led events per year. Available to purchase supplies, reserve event spaces, coordinate with on-campus partners, attend regular planning meetings, coordinate events. Lead summer training and winter recruitment for the Morganton Attaché program. Communicate and collaborate with Institutional Advancement Team Members as needed to coordinate the Morganton Attaché program.
