About the Position: This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of Cook Supervisor without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common supervisory cook duties managing all phases in a food production environment. I can prepare and cook food items, schedule work assignments for personnel, and ensure compliance with food service sanitation and safety regulations. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Work involves lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, standing, and walking. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and can lift heavier objects with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee is exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures, must stand on tile floor, subject to burns, cuts and other injuries from hand tools or power equipment. Required to work at any Cadet Mess facility, including off post camps. The employee is required to wear protective shoes, appropriate hearing protection, and gloves or other safety and food handling items required by food handling guides.
