JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Adjunct-Criminal Justice coordinates and instructs Criminal Justice academic courses. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to the diverse needs of students - Prepares, instructs and grades class coursework. - Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and other assessments, and provide feedback to help students improve. - Assigns final grades. - Integrate computer software and technology-based instruction appropriately. - Maintains a safe and effective classroom environment. - Participate in department, division, and adjunct faculty meetings. - Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: - Master's degree with a major in a related field. or Master's Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in a related field; - Must be a public speaker with excellent verbal and written communication skills; - Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills; - Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows based applications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach up, stoop ability to participate in physical activities related to firefighting, the ability to lift an object of fifty (50) pounds or less, and carry items in excess of fifty (50) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate Firefighting equipment, standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
