About the role

Photogrammetric Imagery Scientists utilize all imaging systems (i.e., satellite, airborne, ground) to extract monoscopic, stereoscopic, and multiscopic mensuration results from objects and geographic features. They create mensuration reports and associated mensuration-derived products. They collaborate with analysts to understand intelligence issues and provide scientific results that augment inte MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Experience organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling own activities to complete assignments in a timely and effective manner while ensuring they meet organizational goals. 2. Experience designing and developing remote sensing analytic techniques and/or tradecraft to answer scientific problems. 5. Experience creating, modifying, and/or refining 3D models and assemblies by extracting precise measurements from source data (e.g., derived dimensions or imagery) using specialized software (e.g., 3D CAD tools such as NX/Solidworks/CREO, or photogrammetry software). EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Imagery Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline that included 24 semester hours in Physical Science and/or related Engineering Science such as Dynamics, Electronics, Mechanics, and Properties of Materials. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A that included at least 24 semester hours in Physical Science and/or related Engineering Science, plus experience that involves extraction of monoscopic, stereoscopic, and multiscopic mensuration of objects and geographic features utilizing all imaging systems, or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses; Stereopsis ability; Hand steadiness DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Experience with software development (e.g. Matlab, Python, Java, C++, R, IDL, GIT, GDAL/PDAL) for automating imagery, raster, and/or 3D data processing and exploitation activities. 2. Eperience with automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and/or automated feature extraction. 3. Experience working with customers, stakeholders, and/or teams within the Intelligence Community. 4. Experience managing multiple competing priorities in an environment where timelines frequently change. 5. Experience with applied imagery science, photogrammetry, Lidar/3D data, Spectral, SAR, and/or Thermal processing in academia, industry and/or government.
