The successful candidate will hold the top-level Juniper certification (e.g. JNCIE-SP) and bring at least 10 years of real-world experience. You will play a key leadership role: owning design and implementation of core network infrastructure, resolving complex issues, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale Service-Provider WAN backbones and core infrastructure using Juniper hardware & software.
  • Configure routing, switching, VPN, MPLS/VPN (L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS, etc.), QoS, multicast, and other SP-related protocols/policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and service issues - including control-plane and data-plane problems, routing policy conflicts, MPLS/VPN issues, peering and interconnect problems, latency/performance degradations, and service outages.
  • Act as escalation point for major incidents and outages; perform root-cause analysis and produce post-mortem documentation including mitigation and prevention recommendations.
  • Provide technical leadership: create high- and low-level network designs (HLD/LLD), architecture documentation, run-books, standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration templates, and network diagrams.
  • Mentor, guide, and deliver technical training or guidance to less experienced engineers; review their work, share best practices, and ensure quality/capacity building in the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - operations, NOC, security, projects, vendors/partners - to deliver end-to-end network and service solutions.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and evolving SP-network requirements; proactively recommend infrastructure or architecture improvements for scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Provide support for any critical incidents or security vulnerabilities that cannot wait for standard business hours.
  • Provide Support during high risk or service impacting change activities that includes, failover, activation, or configuration transitions in the Network.
  • Required Technical Skills / Expertise
  • Deep Juniper expertise - Strong hands-on experience with Juniper products (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and Junos OS. Configuring, upgrading, managing, and troubleshooting Juniper gear in a service-provider environment.
  • Routing, MPLS/VPN, and Core SP Protocols - Extensive knowledge of IP routing (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), MPLS, L3VPN/L2VPN/VPLS, multicast (IGMP, PIM), QoS, traffic engineering, VPNs, network segmentation - including design and troubleshooting in large, distributed, carrier-grade networks.
  • Network design and architecture - Ability to produce both high-level and detailed network designs (HLD/LLD), including resilience, redundancy, high-availability, scalability, capacity planning, and documentation (diagrams, runbooks, network standards).
  • Network automation, scripting, and tools - Familiarity with automation and orchestration (e.g., scripting, network-management tools, monitoring and alerting frameworks) to support consistent, repeatable configurations and proactive network monitoring.
  • Security, VPNs, and network services - Experience implementing security, VPNs, firewalls, and applying best practice security policies in a provider network context; understanding of tunneling, encryption, and secure customer connectivity.
