About the Position: Serves in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Army (DUSA) as the Deputy Chief of the DUSA Initiatives Group (DIG). Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. - NOTE: Transcripts are required. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing policies for the organizational framework to improve the efficacy of the organization's operations; 2) Determining which engagements will have the greatest impact on advancing priority analytical efforts; and 3) Applying quantitative and qualitative analytical methods and operations research frameworks to assess processes, resolve complex problem sets, and generate actionable insights for program improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
