About the role

As Examinations Officer, you'll be responsible for the full exam cycle, ensuring all internal and external examinations run efficiently and in line with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements. You'll work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external agencies, acting as the key point of contact for all exam-related matters and ensuring everything runs smoothly, securely and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the full examination cycle, from planning and entries through to results and post-results services
  • Ensuring all exams are delivered in line with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements, maintaining compliance at all times
  • Coordinating exam timetables, rooms, materials and invigilators to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery
  • Leading and training invigilators, providing clear guidance to ensure exams are run correctly and consistently
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to deliver access arrangements and reasonable adjustments
  • Supporting students throughout the exam process, including handling issues such as absence, clashes or special arrangements
  • Managing results days, post-results services and maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • About You
  • We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and confident managing a process with lots of moving parts.
  • You will have:
  • Experience in an administrative role, ideally within a school or education setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements (desirable)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and database systems
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A professional, reliable and calm approach, especially under pressure
