About the role
As a Frozen & Ambient Stock PI, you will be joining a team responsible for maintaining the stock accuracy of frozen, and ambient products. In the role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the administration of your department is completed as well as supporting the department with any operational activities as required. There will also be times when you will need to support the Warehouse team. You'll work closely with the Senior Operations Clerks, and Stock Manager to ensure that all paperwork within your team is completed accurately & goods within the warehouse function are received properly. The successful candidate will be an advocate for Health & Safety and ensure that all Warehouse Operatives are communicated to with relevant information and support equipment queries. To be successful in the role, you'll have impeccable communication skills, be able to use a computer including the MS Office suite to an intermediate standard, be comfortable with data entry, and ideally have some previous experience administrative. To really excel, you'll have already gained time management and organisation skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative. This role is all about making sure everything is accurately recorded, so attention to detail is key. You will be responsible for Manage product shelf life Verification of stock including correct pack sizes, quantity, price, and best-before dates Managing returns to suppliers/Depots Promote good relations with external and internal suppliers React effectively to sales fluctuations, seasonal changes, and supply problems in order to minimise out-of-stock lines Ensure that extensive communication channels exist and are upheld between suppliers, managers, in-house colleagues, and external depots Take an active role throughout depot stock take procedure Produce and monitor key performance indicators Ensure the correct balance of stock in all temperature areas of the warehouse Escalate any supplier issues to the Stock Manager, ensuring prompt action is taken regarding substitute products Manage slow-moving products and removals of delisted products Support the Stock Control Manager with the achievement of service level targets and department objectives Undertake comprehensive training of administrative staff to facilitate adequate cover during periods of holiday absence Ensure production of daily, weekly, and period reports You will need Essential Skills: Numerical skills Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision Excellent communication skills Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet The ability to prioritise Desirable: Some previous stock control experience A working knowledge of Logistics and Store operations Current FLT reach truck licence Booker is the UK's leading food & drink wholesaler.
