Design Coordinator (Planning & Scheduling) Building Projects

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, coordination, and monitoring of project master programmes from tender to completion.
• Develop detailed construction schedules, design deliverables schedules, resource plans, and progress-tracking systems using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project .
• Coordinate with design consultants, internal design teams, and technical departments to ensure design milestones are met and aligned with construction timelines.
• Collaborate closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, and site teams to align design deliverables with site execution plans and overall project schedules.
• Analyse project and design progress, identify risks or delays, and propose proactive mitigation strategies.
• Monitor subcontractors' and suppliers' schedules-including technical submissions and shop drawings-to ensure synchronization with the main programme.
• Support tender planning activities, including time-cost analysis, construction sequencing, design methodology, and scheduling.
• Prepare and present progress reports, schedule forecasts, and design status updates for management and client review.
• Lead and mentor junior planning engineers or coordinators to ensure planning discipline and consistency across multiple projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project planning within a main contractor environment.
• Proven track record in building projects, with experience coordinating design and construction planning .
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project .
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, design deliverables workflow, resource planning, and project risk management.
