Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance activities to align with operational needs, including verifying pre-job plans, planning and executing lockout/tagout (LOTO), and issuing work permits.
- Support contractors, ensure compliance and understanding of policies and procedures.
- Prepare and issue work permits, audit LOTOs, lead tailgate meetings and hazard assessments.
- Ensure all technical safety and regulatory requirements are met for equipment operation, monitor and operate steam and hot oil systems.
- Maintain boiler logs, operator logs, volume measurement, physical count reporting and handover.
- Complete routine visual inspections of tanks, piping, pumps, and other equipment.
- Coordinate with customers and carriers to schedule operations and load times while managing scale house activities and handling bill of lading creation, sign-off, and filing.
- Develop daily production plans, collaborate with technical services on product issues, conduct sampling and testing, track and report production, perform emulsion milling and treated water production, and maintain/update procedures.
- Perform product and raw material handling operations (truck and rail), manage tank transfers, operate steam and hot oil systems, and maintain/update procedures.
Requirements
- Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas, with fluid handling, truck loading, and boiler/steam plant operations.
- Minimum 4th class power engineering certification.
- Technical Diploma considered an asset.
- Railcar experience considered an asset.
- We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
- As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
- For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.

Operations on this site include rail to tank to truck product handing and production of asphalt emulsion products. The Asphalt Operator is responsible for keeping operating procedures current, troubleshooting equipment, preparing equipment for maintenance (LOTO), and preparing permits. Work Environment: This position is located in Kamloops, BC and requires the successful candidate to live in the area. This is a full-time employee position working Monday to Friday.
