Senior PHP Engineer (India - Remote)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable backend systems using PHP
• Lead architecture decisions and drive best practices across the engineering team
• Refactor and modernize legacy systems into maintainable, modular services
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs
• Work closely with product, QA, and support teams to deliver high-quality features
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering excellence
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, code quality, and deployment processes
• Core Technical Requirements
• 7-10+ years of PHP development experience
• Strong experience with modern frameworks ( Laravel preferred; CodeIgniter acceptable )
• Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture
• Extensive experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and database optimization
• Proven experience building scalable, high-traffic applications
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, system integration, and distributed systems
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and code review practices
• Solid understanding of Linux environments and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Strong focus on performance, security, and scalability
• Front-End & Full-Stack Exposure (Preferred)
• Proficiency in JavaScript (modern frameworks like React/Angular/Vue)
• Strong grasp of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design
