Responsibilities
- Division of Economic Security:
- The Child Support Technician II:
- Perform technical and legal work by following an administrative or judicial process to provide services to clients involving the modification of child support obligations
- Work closely with City Attorneys and the judicial system to modify medical and financial support orders to ensure that they are "right-sized" and accurately reflect the parent's current ability to financially support their children
- State Guidelines Calculation: Calculates updated support obligations using state-mandated guidelines and tables to ensure fair financial and medical support.
- Negotiation & Mediation: Communicates with obligors (payers) and obligees (recipients) to explain child support modification services, processes and requirements as well as explaining mediation/negotiation of pay amounts and plans, stipulations, and settlements
- Case Management: Maintains accurate records in state databases, monitors compliance, and collaborates with legal team for ongoing actions that may be needed.
