In this position you will be responsible for delivering high quality food and excellent customer service at two of the campus's most popular venues - Der Rathskeller and the Memorial Union Terrace Brat Stand. The duties of this position will include- food preparation and serving as well as directing and coordinating the work of student staff. The successful person in this position will: * Have knowledge of food production techniques * Be able to coach and train cooking skills * Have excellent customer service skills * Have superior interpersonal communication skills * Enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment This is your opportunity to develop your culinary and leadership skills with a great team and great benefits! Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally needed; Ability to work outside in inclement weather needed. Work Schedule and Location: This position is scheduled to work a combination of days, nights and weekends. Operational and work schedules will be closely aligned with the services and customer needs of our units. As a result, work schedules will be adjusted during specific times of the year to meet demand. Key Job Responsibilities: Trains and guides student workers Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities Department: Wisconsin Union, Dining & Hospitality, Memorial Union
