Chief Product & Technology Officer - Host Hotel Systems

Responsibilities

• Product & Technology Strategy
• Define and deliver integrated product, technology, and AI strategy, aligning modernization with business objectives.
• Lead roadmap governance, product rationalization, and lifecycle management.
• Drive architectural consolidation across legacy and modern frameworks, establishing a secure, scalable, cloud-aligned platform.
• Establish AI and data foundations-data platform, governance, predictive analytics use cases, and generative AI opportunities.
• Engineering Leadership & Process Excellence
• Implement a modern SDLC with clear standards, automation, quality gates, and predictable delivery practices.
• Reduce key-person dependency through documentation, cross-training, and institutionalized processes.
• Introduce AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance developer productivity and code quality.
• Establish model lifecycle processes for any AI features (testing, monitoring, drift detection).
• Modernization & Technical Excellence
• Lead migration to the latest .NET platform and drive UI, API, and integration modernization.
• Strengthen data architecture, API governance, and documentation maturity.
• Design AI-ready system components and foundational analytics capabilities.
• Security, Governance & Compliance
• Partner with the CISO to strengthen governance, IR/DR readiness, vulnerability management, and secure development practices.
• Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as executive technology liaison to customers and partners, improving transparency and predictability.
• Collaborate with Support leadership to uphold SLAs and drive customer confidence.
• Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
• Build and mentor high-performing product, engineering, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams.
• Set a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Lead hiring, restructuring, and upskilling programs to support the transformation.
• Required Qualifications & Experience:
• 10+ years progressive leadership experience in SaaS engineering and product management, including CPTO/CTO/VP Engineering or similar roles.
• Demonstrated success modernizing legacy platforms into modern, cloud‑ready architectures at scale.
• Deep expertise in .NET, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automated testing, and architectural patterns for distributed systems.
• Proven track record implementing disciplined product management, roadmap governance, and release processes.
• Strong understanding of application and infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience leading technical transformation in mission-critical software environments.
• Experience defining and delivering AI/ML or advanced analytics strategies in SaaS, retail, supply chain, or operationally intensive environments.
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture, data governance, data quality frameworks, and their relationship to AI reliability and safety.

The CPTO owns the full product and technology mandate-from roadmap definition and architectural modernization to engineering execution, quality assurance, talent development, and product lifecycle governance. The role requires hands‑on leadership, strong technical credibility, and the ability to execute a multi‑year transformation while maintaining the reliability of a mission‑critical retail platform used by thousands of frontline operators daily. The CPTO will also define AI strategy and execution roadmap, establishing the foundations for predictive analytics, data-driven decision support, automation of internal processes, and future AI-enabled customer experiences. This includes building the data platform, governance, and engineering practices required to responsibly introduce machine learning and generative AI capabilities across the product suite and internal workflows.
