Cloud DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available , and secure AWS cloud environments.
• Implement infrastructure as code ( IaC ) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK .
• Manage core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFront.
• DevOps & Automation
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline , Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and configuration management.
• Promote DevOps best practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous testing.
• Cloud Operations & Reliability
• Monitor system performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog .
• Implement logging, tracing, and alerting to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system resilience.
• Security & Compliance
• Implement cloud security best practices including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards through automation and policy enforcement.
• Embed security into the DevOps lifecycle ( DevSecOps principles).
• Collaboration & Delivery
• Work closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams to support application delivery.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog prioritization and sprint delivery.
• Provide technical guidance on cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.
• Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Stay current with evolving AWS services and DevOps tooling.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer experience.
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, templates, and internal best practices.
• Capabilities & Skills Required
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture patterns .
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) .
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release management .
• Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
• Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices .
• Understanding of cloud security, networking, and compliance .
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies .
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
• Academic Qualifications & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• AWS certifications highly desirable, such as:
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional
• Additional certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or DevOps tools advantageous .
