Maintenance Fitter - Afternoon Shift

About the role

The role is responsible for our in-house preventative maintenance and repairs of all types of trucks, units and associated equipment. You will be setting up and operating hand tools, including but not limited to MIG welding, gas cutting, drills, grinders and clamps, along with requisitioning or repairing parts and associated consumables. Maintaining job sheets and unit records by annotating all inspections, servicing, and repairs. This position will cover our afternoon shift, which will be the hours of 2pm to 11:30pm, with rostered Saturdays. About you We are looking for someone with experience Experience in MIG welding and fabrication Experience using a range of engineering hand and power tools Qualification in Fabrication, Fitting and/or Welding to AS/NZS 2980 (advantageous but not essential) Strong health and safety mindset Exposure to line boring, hydraulic diagnostics, and maintenance would be advantageous Valid NZ driver's licence Valid NZ forklift licence (not essential) Basic computer skills Excellent time management skills You are health and safety conscious and have a mechanical aptitude. You enjoy working in a team, have a good sense of humour and equally comfortable working autonomously.
