This role sits in a complex, regulated, and high-impact domain and requires a leader who drives clarity, alignment, and data-driven decision making. This is a player-coach leadership role , not a visual design position only. You will set direction in ambiguous spaces, align cross-functional teams early in the product lifecycle, and ensure UX drives meaningful outcomes for nurses, students, educators, and institutions. You will also act as a change agent , helping partners evolve their understanding of UX from strategic product design to execution. Required Job Qualifications | What We're Looking For Experience leading UX in complex, ambiguous product environments Strong facilitation skills with a track record of driving alignment and decisions Ability to influence cross-functional partners without formal authority History of impactful, user-centered product experiences Strong product thinking and business awareness Comfort operating as a player-coach Preferred Experience in healthcare, education, or other regulated industries Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design practices Experience contributing to AI-enabled or emerging technology experiences Background in systems thinking or service design Technical & Craft Foundations Experience working with design systems and scalable UX patterns Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards Proficiency with Figma and current Figma best practices (auto-layout, local-components, selection, etc.) Adobe Creative Suite familiarity a plus Understanding of agile development and complex, cross-functional delivery Foundational knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 to support effective collaboration with Engineering Experience or working knowledge in the AI space, including designing or partnering on AI‑enabled experiences and understanding implications for usability, trust, and workflow integration What Success Looks Like UX is engaged earlier and more consistently in product discovery PreVis and visioning workshops drive alignment and momentum Accessibility and usability are considered early, not retrofitted UX helps shape responsible, effective AI-enabled experiences UX is viewed as a vital strategic product partner , not a downstream service
