REQ14600 Technician (Open) POSITION SUMMARY: Wardrobe Technician is responsible to perform the daily duties of various sub-teams within the Wardrobe and Costume Department. These include the maintenance of costumes, headpieces, wigs, accessories, and shoes, as well as duties involving show pre-set, laundry, makeup, hair and wigs and other performer dressing needs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and follow the daily washing rotation keeping an efficient system and reporting any issues and suggestions. Pre-set performer's costumes, headpieces, wigs, accessories, and shoes prior and during showtime, validations, and training sessions. Assist performer's during show call, validations, and training with costumes, headpieces, wigs, accessories, and shoes with quick changes, as well as assist performers as needed with dressing needs. Develop and build a working knowledge on the maintenance of costumes and accessories; including hats, footwear, masks, for a large scale show. Develop experience and working knowledge in effective fitting techniques and efficient alterations. Develop an understanding and knowledge of a wide range of fabrics from neoprene, stretch, vinyls, and plastics. Responsible for performer's makeup application and removal before, during, and post-show. Responsible for Daily Maintenance of Wigs and Headpieces with hair. Responsible for Wig and Hat Fittings. Develop a professional working knowledge and experience in pattern cutting and manipulation. Assist with documenting and record keeping of all pattern notes and modifications. During all operations: assist in maintenance and costume fitting, as well as to the development of repairs and cleaning procedures. Be responsible for construction techniques and costume construction for costumes, accessories, millinery, and footwear as required. Responsible for distributing laundry to performers dressing rooms every morning, ensure all laundry should be dry and check if there are missed laundry in the dressing rooms. Assist in Show Laundry. Develop a working knowledge in wig maintenance, as well as the skills needed to be a Wardrobe Attendant. Responsible for reporting costume/footwear/haberdashery workshop supply needs Adhere to and enforce safety policies. Respect and adhere to deadlines. Maintain and follow the daily washing rotation keeping an efficient system and reporting any issues and suggestions to supervisors. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Ability to read and communicate in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Professionally presented and behaved. Timely completion of delegated tasks with accuracy. Must be able to lift heavy objects.
