About the role
As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you'll play a key role in attracting, hiring and retaining high-quality talent across a designated business area. You'll partner closely with hiring managers, provide expert recruitment support, and ensure a seamless, candidate-centric experience throughout the hiring lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with hiring managers, acting as their first point of contact for recruitment needs
- Conduct discovery calls to understand new vacancies and create compelling, optimised job adverts
- Post roles across job boards and social channels to attract diverse talent
- Proactively source candidates using job boards, social media and smart sourcing techniques
- Screen applicants against agreed criteria and coordinate interviews within agreed timeframes
- Deliver excellent customer service to both hiring managers and candidates
- Manage the offer and compliance process, ensuring consistency and timely completion
- Maintain accurate recruitment administration using Workday ATS
- Analyse recruitment data, including time-to-hire and key KPIs
- Support the wider TA team to ensure a smooth, efficient recruitment process
- Promote Mears as an employer of choice and uphold a One Mears approach
- Work collaboratively with the wider HR function to deliver a joined-up service
- Attend careers fairs, recruitment events and community engagement activities to promote opportunities at Mears Group
- Visit branches nationwide to support hiring managers face-to-face and gain a deeper understanding of local recruitment needs
- Be prepared to travel across the UK as required
- Role Criteria:
- Previous recruitment experience (in-house or agency)
- Friendly and approachable, with the ability to build positive relationships
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- High attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Proactive, with the confidence to use initiative and take ownership of tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Resilient, adaptable and confident making independent decisions
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with ATS systems (Workday desirable)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
