Project Support Engineer

About the role

You will serve as a Project Support Engineer in the FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA, Spain. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, coordinating and conducting complex research on engineering projects; 2) Assessing and applying knowledge of engineering theories, principles, and practices to technically assess, evaluate, and provide recommendations for contractor change proposals, growth and new work; 3) Developing and training junior engineers and technicians on projects; 4) Participating in departmental and divisional training assessment, surveys, and evaluations; and 5) Provide oversight of contractor's quality assurance management program for technical documents and data. It is the incumbent's responsibility to transport himself expeditiously between job sites in the local area of the permanent duty station with reimbursement costs in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations. This position requires the incumbent to perform temporary duty travel approximately 10% of the time. Travel may be on short notice and/or for extended periods of time.
