Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary The Billing and Insurance Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting virology patients at WUID with benefits enrollment assistance, navigation, and education. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Assists virology patients with their enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid, ACA Marketplace plans, sliding fee scale, patient assistance programs. Receives and approves Ryan White Program coverage requests and inquiries from ID faculty and staff, as well as other specialty providers. Provides ongoing training for faculty, staff and patients regarding billing, insurance, patient assistance, sliding fee scale, etc. Distributes information to virology patients regarding their benefits and insurance enrollment, as well as billing. Assists with the invoicing process. Ensures insurance/benefits are accurately documented for patients in EPIC and the Statewide CM database. Works collaboratively with program managers, case managers, and clinical providers to communicate outcomes of benefit navigation. Completes regular documentation in SCOUT and statewide database and Epic EHR regarding benefits related services and outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Patient care setting. Physical Effort: Typically working at desk or table. Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement. Ability to move to on and off-campus locations. Equipment: Office equipment.
