Summary of the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sales Manager, Cell and Gene Therapies to drive the growth and adoption of Terumo BCT's innovative cell therapy platforms and solutions across North Asia. Based in Seoul, South Korea , this critical role will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and building deep relationships with key strategic accounts, as well as expanding Terumo BCT's channel network in these dynamic markets. This position reports to the Director, APAC Commercial, Cell and Gene Therapies . This is a unique opportunity for an individual who brings a strong combination of scientific understanding, strategic sales acumen, and a passion for shaping the future of cell and gene therapy. Key Functions / Responsibilities 1. Strategic Account Development & Management (70%) Consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets while achieving appropriate pricing objectives Identify, prospect, and qualify high-potential strategic accounts within the cell and gene therapy ecosystem, including pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, CMOs/CDMOs, and leading academic research institutions across North Asia Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to deeply integrate Terumo BCT's cell and gene therapy platforms (Quantum Flex, Finia, SCD IIB welders, and associated consumables and services) into customer R&D pipelines, clinical trials, and commercial manufacturing processes Apply a consultative sales approach to thoroughly understand customer challenges, scientific requirements, and long-term business objectives, positioning Terumo BCT as a strategic partner Utilize strategic selling methodologies to navigate complex organizational structures, identify key influencers and decision-makers, and build alignment among diverse stakeholders Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key decision-makers, scientific leaders, MSAT and process development teams, and C-suite executives Lead complex sales cycles by coordinating internal cross-functional resources across APAC and global teams, including Field Application Specialists, Technical Service, and Marketing Conduct in-depth needs assessments to uncover customer pain points and identify opportunities where Terumo BCT solutions can deliver significant value and accelerate therapeutic development Negotiate and close high-value, long-term agreements, demonstrating strong commercial acumen and understanding of customer business models Provide accurate sales forecasts, manage pipeline activity, and maintain detailed records within the CRM system 2. Channel Id entification & Expansion (20%) Continuously assess the market landscape to identify and evaluate potential new channel partners (distributors, integrators) to expand Terumo BCT's reach and market penetration in North Asia Assess potential partners based on technical capability, market access, existing customer relationships, financial stability, and strategic alignment Support the onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management of new and existing channel partners to ensure adherence to Terumo BCT standards Collaborate with channel partners on joint sales initiatives and market development programs 3. Market Intelligence & Collaboration (10%) Act as the voice of the customer by gathering market insights, competitive intelligence, and unmet customer needs to support product development, marketing strategy, and business planning at the APAC and global levels Represent Terumo BCT at relevant industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific meetings to strengthen brand presence and build relationships with key stakeholders Education & Experience Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field is required; a Ph.D. is a plus A Bachelor's degree with an equivalent level of relevant experience will also be considered Minimum of 8+ years of progressive sales experience within the life sciences, biotechnology, or medical device industries, with a strong focus on capital equipment and high-value solutions At least 3-5 years of direct sales and strategic account development experience specifically within the cell and gene therapy, regenerative medicine, or biologics manufacturing sectors Valid driver's license is required This position is primarily based in a typical office environment. Physical requirements include reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
