About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and -operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813. Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service; (2) Performing law enforcement duties such as: collecting evidence, conducting searches, issuing tickets, administering first aid, and/or enforcing traffic laws; (3) Enforcing laws to protect personnel and property; and (4) Utilizing computer-based systems to prepare a variety of reports pertaining to law enforcement operations such as: sworn statements, affidavits, incidents, citations, and/or criminal investigations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
