Supervisory General Engineer (Open to both U.S. Citizens and Federal Employees)

About the role

The Office of Port Infrastructure Development is seeking a Supervisory General Engineer to provide expert technical leadership and administrative oversight. This role is critical in advancing safety, efficiency, and resilience of our nation's marine transportation systems, including ports and docks. To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must (1) meet the Education Requirement for the series, (2) provide a copy of transcripts for verification, AND (3) meet the specialized experience requirements. To qualify for the GS-14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include: Experience including: engineering training; applying concepts and principles to planning, design and construction and transportation-related construction projects. Experience in leadership and management, including work leading and coaching teams and performance management. Experience in strategic planning, program and project management and verbal and written communications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
