Senior Chemical Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform minor maintenance such as strainer cleaning, filter/ screen change, coolant/ lubricants top up and hose connection etc.
• Perform checks, start-up, and shutdown operations on process equipment such as pumps and compressors as per Standard Operating Procedures or Work Instructions.
• Isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change and troubleshooting operations.
• Adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision of Supervisors.
• Collect process samples from assigned sampling points in a safe manner.
• Able to work in a laboratory environment performing in process sample testing to ensure product quality.
• Commissioning and de-commissioning of process equipment.
• Performing emergency shutdown of process equipment.
• Proper handing and blending of non-conforming and off specs products.
• Prepare plant equipment for maintenance and ensure all required Lockout, Tagout and Tryout has been performed.
• Preparing chemicals, including mixing and dilution, for process operations.
• Performing inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.
• Performing emergency response activities and drills.
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Review of final product and process analytical results, and DCS conditions/trends.
• Understand and comply with departmental Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Contribute to the improvement of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Programs.
• Performing any other duties or assignments as assigned by superiors.

Requirements

• NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology
• At least 8 years' working experience as Process Technician in a chemical industry
